Best way to study
Many wonder what are the best ways to study. There is no single answer because we are all unique personalities and have different capabilities. How to study better and enhance your memory? Do you have problems with studying? Do you get bored just looking at books and notes? Are you unable to gather only important information from all the information available? Read on.
Studying is important today
In this article you will learn how to quickly learn and acknowledge the topics you are trying to learn. In today’s world, knowledge is almost everything. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to finish college to be recognized. No, there are other ways to. In fact, you are learning trough your whole life.
Scientists say that we are “brain creatures”. Our brain has billions and billions of cells, dedicated to one purpose only – learn, adapt and calculate.
Studying is learning and memorising
There are basically two types of memory. Short term memory and long term memory. You just saved this sentence in short term memory, but not in long term memory. In order to remember this sentence tomorrow, you will have to save in long term memory. You can do this by reading this sentence one, two, three times more. In order to learn something we must memorise this event in our brain. Our brain stores this data by saving the sequence of electromagnetic pulses somewhere in our brain. The more things we memorise the smarter our brain gets and so do we. You can enhance your intelligence by learning. Wow, what an important discovery huh? :)
How to study better?
Before learning and learning how to study better, we must know some of our limitations. How long can you study with focus? Which method did you use before to study? What area are you trying to study (science, art, music..)? By what schedule are you planning to study?
Here are tips on how to study better:
How should you schedule look like?
When you are ready to study make sure to plan your activities in advance. Here is a simple schedule to study.
Your schedule for studying
1) Get up at 8:00
2) Eat breakfast. Eat some quality food that will help you study. What food to eat when studying
3) Start studying.
4) Take a break of about 10 minutes every hour.
5) Eat lunch.
6) Do some activities. Go run, or just go outside. Maybe only on balcony.
7) Study more, and take breaks.
8) Go to bed at 11 in the evening. You will need a lot of sleep. If you study sleepy it is as good as if you weren’t studying at all.
Some additional notes:
Remember that taking breaks during studying is very important. When you take a break you are actually doing 2 things. You are resting and you are allowing your brain to strengthen the signature of the data it just memorised. All data is memorised as EMG pulses in long term memory zones. You will need a lot of repeating to further enhance your memory and the subject you just studied on. There was a study on some university where they discovered that a person forgets about 50% of information within an hour, and up to 60% of information in the next 8 hours. In one month a person forgets about 80% of information. This is why you have to repeat and study the same subject many times.
The best way to study is of course to study accordingly and every day. This way you will obtain the best results.
