So what is Mundus erasmus program?

The Erasmus Mundus program is a basically an equivalent study program initiated by the European nations which promotes the studies of Europe throughout the world .i.e. it is bound for globalizing the education given in Europe. It supports the Masters courses of the European education. The Erasmus Mundus program is basically running parallel to the Erasmus program which has the same motto but it is allowed to only the European students. The main aim of this program is to improve the worth of higher education through scholarships and improving the academic co-operations between the rest of the world. It gives the European Union as a center stage or the center of attraction and it also promotes the third world countries in their educational grounds.
The European Union has highlighted its guidelines which the program follows. Encouragement of European higher education.
Giving training to the people around the world so that they can attain experience in European Union. Make a bridge between European Universities and the rest of the world.

How does Mundus erasmus function

There are certain rules and criteria’s for the Erasmus Mundus courses .In this case the course should be presented by a syndicate of higher educational institutions which are the member countries among the 27 European Union countries. It includes the applicant countries for the European Countries or the EEA-EFTA states. The minimum duration to attend the program is one year and the maximum duration is 2 years. The minimum syndicate consists of three higher educational institutions originating from three different countries. After getting selected the syndicate can establish partnership with one third world country higher education institution.

Following are the programs offered by the Erasmus Mundus.

MAPENT means masters on photonic network engineering. It is a master with 2 years offered by a syndicate (consortium) of 4 universities and supported by 5 enterprises.
ASTROMUNDUS means the master of Astrophysics and Astronomy. It has a syndicate of 5 universities of four different European countries.
DILL means the master in digital library learning. It is a 2 year learning program. There are three universities. Where student has to spend each semester.
EuMAS means European union master in aeronautics and space technology. It is a 2 year program and offered by 5 universities.
There are many other degree programs related to the Erasmus Mundus which are associated with computer, software, rural development, Economics, Law, Water resources, Marine biodiversity, Euroculture.
